OUR SERVICES |
We work with owners, architects, engineers and contractors to provide field and/or laboratory engineering, testing and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). From these services we prepare and submit data and reports to our clients. |

Position Description |
General Responsibilities: |
|
Performs basic field and laboratory tests as directed. Exercises selection of test frequency and has the ability to make limited analysis of data. |

Specific Responsibilities: |
|
- Soils - Observe placement of fill material, perform control tests, review data for compliance with project requirements, review soil conditions in simple footings or piers, and classification of soil, Proctors, and Atterberg limits.
- Aggregates - Test specific gravity, absorption, and abrasion.
- Concrete - Perform unit weight and batch yield. Observe placement. Produce laboratory trial batches.
- Asphalt - Perform Marshall specimen test, extraction/gradation analysis, and field compaction tests.
- Steel - Review field erection for compliance, standard fabrication, reinforcing steel placement, and R-meter or Profometer for reinforcing location.
- Prepares and reviews field boring logs using Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and basic standard rock classifications and site description forms for projects as well as other necessary site documentation such as a listing of observation well supplies installed for each day.

TEAM Services is growing and has an opening for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in our Des Moines, Iowa office. An experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer will lead a project team on geotechnical and construction projects.
Key skills include high attention to detail, organization, ability to prioritize work, clear and concise writing, proactive communication, dependability, and capability to develop innovative geotechnical solutions to project challenges.
A senior geotechnical engineer will build and maintain client relationships and continue growing our geotechnical engineering practice, servicing projects and clients in the public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.

General Responsibilities: |
|
- Drafting engineering proposals and reports.
- Provide final review of proposals and reports, stamping reports.
- Conducting geotechnical analyses: settlement, bearing capacity, etc.
- Coordination of subsurface exploration and laboratory testing operations.
- Communicating well with clients, design team members, contractors, and fellow staff.
- Interpret construction-stage inspection results to provide either approval of soil conditions or recommendations to correct deficiencies.
- Provide on-site oversight and guidance to contractors as warranted.
- Providing technical direction for both routine and unique or complex projects.
- Provide leadership of marketing, sales, and business development.

Qualifications: |

- BSCE Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- MSCE Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

General Responsibilities: |
|
- Drafting engineering proposals and reports.
- Coordination of subsurface exploration and laboratory testing operations.
- Communicating well with clients, design team members, contractors, and fellow staff.
- Interpret construction-stage inspection results to assist senior engineer in providing either approval of soil conditions or recommendations to correct deficiencies.
- Provide on-site oversight and guidance to contractors as warranted.
- Manage small to medium sized projects from proposal through preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
- Work with clients and senior engineers to develop proposals that define project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyze data and perform engineering calculations and analysis for senior engineer review.
- Conduct, coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of respective data.
- Work closely with senior-level project manager and Professional Engineer of Record to gain project management and engineering experience.
- Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for review and consideration by the Professional Engineer of Record.
- Supervise engineering technicians, exploration teams, laboratory staff and other support personnel.
- Work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

- Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification (Preferred).
- BSCE Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferred) and/or 1 to 3 years of experience.
